Report: DOJ Unlikely to Bring Charges in Investigation of Biden’s Handling of Classified Documents

Jamiesfeast – Prosecutors do not plan to bring criminal charges against President Joe Biden for his alleged mishandling of classified documents, according to a report by The Washington Post. However, a forthcoming special counsel report is expected to criticize the president’s actions. The report by special counsel Robert Hur is set to be released in the near future, possibly as early as this week, according to sources familiar with the matter. It is worth noting that prosecutors may still choose to delay its release. Hur was appointed to the case in January 2023, following the discovery of approximately 10 classified documents in Biden’s private office dating back to his time as vice president. Additional classified material was found the following month at his Delaware residence. When asked for comment, a spokesperson for Hur declined to respond. The release of the report has raised concerns among Biden’s team, not because of potential criminal charges, but due to worries that it may reveal embarrassing details that could impact his re-election campaign, as reported by Axios earlier this week.
