Government Contractor Stole FBI Vehicle Following Receipt Of ‘coded Messages,’ Documents Say

Jamiesfeast – According to a criminal complaint, John Worrell III hopped into the dark green four-door Ford sedan that had been parked in the garage at FBI headquarters sometime Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 6. The vehicle was government-issued and belonged to an FBI agent.

The FBI agent who parked the car discovered that it was missing shortly after leaving it, which triggered an investigation.

The vehicle was observed entering an FBI facility in Vienna, VA, where Worrell, using credentials found inside the car, identified himself to security as the FBI agent to whom the vehicle belonged. He claimed to have a classified meeting at the facility, according to the complaint.

Worrell was later found wearing a jacket and sunglasses that were left inside the car. However, he couldn’t provide access cards that matched the FBI agent whose credentials were in the car. As a result, he was instructed to park in the visitor parking area.

He made another attempt to enter the facility, but once again, he was denied access. At this point, security personnel approached Worrell, who eventually handed over his Virginia ID with his actual name.

According to the criminal complaint, Worrell was arrested by the Vienna police. During the investigation, he claimed that he had been receiving coded messages in different forms, such as emails, ‘stage whispering,’ and various contextual clues. These messages indicated that Worrell was in danger, prompting him to seek safety in a secure facility.

Worrell faced serious legal charges, including two felony counts of theft of government property and interstate transportation of a stolen vehicle.
