Deadly Attack On U.S. Base Kills At Least Six As Mideast Boils Over

Jamiesfeast – The Pentagon announced on Sunday that the U.S. military has carried out a series of airstrikes targeting Houthi missiles in Yemen. Meanwhile, overnight drone attack on an American base in Syria resulted in the deaths of several Kurdish fighters, adding to the ongoing violence in the region.

On Monday, the U.S. Central Command said in a statement that its forces had hit a Houthi land attack cruise missile and four anti-ship cruise missiles that were “all ready to launch against ships in the Red Sea. ” The statement said that the militia’s weapons “posed an immediate threat to U.S. Navy ships and merchant vessels in the region.”

Because Israel is at war with Hamas in Gaza, the Houthis have been striking ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. The rebels say they are going after ships with ties to Israel to show support for Palestine, but many of the ships they are going after don’t seem to have any ties to Israel at all.

Over the weekend, the U.S. also attacked other groups in Iraq and Syria that were close to Iran. This was in response to the attack in Jordan late last month that killed three American troops. However, attacks on American targets in the Middle East have not stopped.

As of Monday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said that a one-way unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) hit their commando school at a base in the al-Omar oil field that is home to U.S. troops. The SDF said that six Kurdish soldiers were killed, but no Americans were hurt.

They said they were responsible for killing the Kurdish fighters. The so-called Islamic Resistance in Iraq is a group of militants that were behind the drone attack that killed American soldiers in Jordan. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), which is based in the UK, said that the latest attack was part of the “Revenge for Gaza” operation by the Islamic Resistance. The SOHR said, “This attack is the first time that Iranian militias have responded to American bases after American airstrikes on militia positions in different areas that they control.”

However, the group said that seven more people had died in the attack and that 18 others had been hurt, some badly. The SOHR said that since October 19, Iran-backed militias have attacked 108 U.S. bases in Syria. Of those strikes, 27 were on the al-Omar oil field installation.

Trump asked for a “firm and serious response” after the deaths in Jordan, and it is “now underway,” White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told Meet the Press on Sunday. “We are planning to carry out more strikes and other actions to keep making it clear that the US will act when our troops are attacked or when our people are killed,” he said.
