Jamiesfeast – Taylor Swift has officially become the artist with the highest number of Grammy Awards for Album of the Year.
On Sunday night, Swift clinched her fourth Album of the Year award for “Midnights,” her 10th studio album, which was released in 2022. Her win puts her ahead of music legends Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, and Frank Sinatra, all of whom have three Album of the Year victories.
Stepping onto the stage after Celine Dion called out her name, Swift was taken aback. She expressed her gratitude to her remarkable producer, Jack Antonoff, and her engineer, Laura Sisk. Swift also acknowledged her friend and collaborator, Lana Del Rey, who stood beside her during this momentous occasion.
“I just want to keep doing this because it brings me so much joy. It’s mind-blowing. Thank you so much.” Swift expressed her gratitude.
In 2010, Taylor Swift achieved her first Album of the Year victory with her sophomore album, “Fearless.” She continued her winning streak in 2016 with the pop sensation “1989” and once again in 2021 with her heartfelt masterpiece, “Folklore.”
The album “Midnights” emerged as the winner among the nominated albums from Jon Batiste, Boygenius, Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey, Janelle Monáe, Olivia Rodrigo, and SZA.
Swift had quite an eventful evening, culminating in her Album of the Year win. During her acceptance speech for Best Pop Vocal Album, she surprised everyone with the exciting news that she will be releasing a brand new album, titled “The Tortured Poets Department,” on April 19.
At the 2024 awards show, Swift arrived with an impressive six nominations under her belt. Among these were Record of the Year and Song of the Year for her hit single “Anti-Hero” from the album “Midnights.” Ultimately, she claimed victory in two of these categories, further solidifying her Grammy count to a remarkable 14 wins.
