Jamiesfeast – In Times Square, two NYPD officers faced an assault while trying to apprehend a male suspect.
In the CCTV footage captured on Saturday 27 January, officers can be seen attempting to scatter a group gathered in front of a building on West 42nd Street. However, a scuffle ensues shortly after their intervention.
The suspects can be seen as they punch and kick the police before fleeing towards 7th Ave.
According to local reports., one of the lieutenants got cut on the face, and the other officer got hurt on the side of his body.
Five individuals have been taken into custody on charges of assaulting or attempting to assault a police officer and engaging in gang assault.
