Jamiesfeast – Four migrants who allegedly ganged up on two NYPD cops near Times Square have been released without bail and may now be on the run, according to sources.
According to law enforcement sources, it is believed that the group used fake names to deceive a church-affiliated nonprofit organization that assists migrants in obtaining transportation out of the city. The authorities suspect that the individuals may have boarded a bus destined for California on Wednesday.
Four people involved in the horrifying attack on a police officer and obstructing justice in Midtown have been charged. The accused, who are believed to have fled the area, now face charges of assault on a police officer and obstruction. The incident, which was captured on video, has shocked the public.
Darwin Andres Gomez, 19, Kelvin Servita Arocha, 19, Wilson Juarez, 21, and Yorman Reveron, 24, were granted release by a Manhattan judge without the requirement of monetary bail.
However, Reveron, who had previous arrests on his record, was placed under supervised release. It is believed that leaving the city without permission would likely be a violation of the court-ordered release.
Reveron was placed under supervision due to his involvement in two ongoing criminal cases in Manhattan. These cases include charges of assaulting a Nordstrom Rack employee during an attempted theft of $130 back in November.

In addition, he is facing allegations of assaulting a worker at Macy’s Herald Square in the previous month during an attempted robbery alongside two accomplices.
Jhoan Boada, a fifth asylum-seeking suspect, who is 22 years old, also faced the same charges and was released without bail on Wednesday.
Later that night, the NYPD apprehended two additional migrants, namely Jandry Barros, 21, and Yohenry Brito, 24.
The courtroom was packed with dozens of New York’s Finest and representatives of the Police Benevolent Association for Brito’s arraignment on Thursday. This marked the first time that one of the individuals charged in the attack had been ordered to be held on bail.
According to sources and a criminal complaint, he has been arrested four times in the past for petty larceny. Currently, he has two open cases and has already pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct charge in September.
According to Assistant District Attorney Zachary Kotin, Brito’s lack of a permanent address or ties to the community justified setting bail to ensure his return to court. Judge Marisol Martinez Alonzo agreed with this argument and approved the bail amount.
“We showed up in full force at the courtroom today to stand in solidarity with our fellow police officer and our Lieutenant, both of whom were viciously assaulted by a gang on the street. Our police officer was repeatedly punched and kicked before the attackers managed to escape,” expressed PBA President Patrick Hendry in a statement following the arraignment.
“The justice system has shown its effectiveness today. Although the individual is currently on bail, we need to address the concern of why these four individuals were released on their own recognizances instead of being held in jail,” he expressed.
“Our criminal system is completely turned around,” he emphasized. “What kind of message does this send to the dedicated New York City police officers who put their lives on the line every day to safeguard the people of New York? If we, as law enforcement, are not adequately protected, how can we ensure the safety of our communities?”
The DA’s office has stated that Barros has not been charged by prosecutors yet, as further investigation is still underway.
According to a representative from the DA’s office, the key concern is whether the individual who was arrested was actually involved in the incident. Currently, there is insufficient evidence to establish his connection to the heinous act. The representative further emphasized the office’s strong condemnation of assaults on police officers and their commitment to prosecuting those responsible.
The District Attorney’s office had previously stated that they were still studying the footage to ascertain the level of involvement of the five suspects.
On Thursday, the spokesperson also mentioned that the office is currently looking into the allegations regarding the four released migrants who have allegedly left the town.
According to Al Baker, a spokesperson for the state Office of Court Administration, the defendants’ whereabouts are currently unknown. However, they are required to appear in court on their scheduled dates, which is February 6th.
The defense attorneys representing the four migrants, who are currently believed to be evading the authorities, did not respond to requests for comment.
“We don’t just tolerate any harm towards our police officers or anyone else,” she firmly stated.
