Sheriff Seizes Cocaine And Loaded Gun From Suspended Driver And Passenger During Maryland Stop

Jamiesfeast – A sheriff’s deputy from Carroll County noticed a blue Ford Mustang speeding past other vehicles in the right turn lane on Baltimore Boulevard in Westminster. This incident occurred at around 3:50 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, according to the county sheriff’s office.

During the traffic stop, the Deputy discovered that the driver’s license was suspended and noticed several signs indicating drug use.

The Deputy asked for a K9 scan of the vehicle, but there was drug paraphernalia clearly visible. Both the driver, Eric Lorenzo Purvey, 28, from Hanover, PA, and William Iser, 55, from Westminster, were detained.

Authorities discovered a significant haul of illicit items during a search, including approximately 17 grams of cocaine, a loaded 9mm handgun, glass pipes commonly associated with smoking, a digital scale, and over $500 in cash.

The driver and passenger were taken to Central Booking.

Purvey and Iser faced charges of:

    • Possession with intent to distribute Narcotics
    • Numerous charges related to illegal possession of a firearm
    • Possession of CDS Paraphernalia
    • Possession of CDS (Not cannabis)

Purvey faced additional charges for traffic violations in connection with the initial stop. Both Purvey and Iser are currently being held at the Carroll County Detention Center.
