Report: Trump Ballot Eligibility Hits A Snag In Illinois

Jamiesfeast – A former judge in Illinois has recently shared a non-binding opinion stating that Donald Trump’s actions amounted to insurrection as he tried to overturn the 2020 election. However, the judge emphasized that the state board that appointed him does not have the authority to remove Trump from the 2024 ballot. According to the judge, only the courts can make that decision. This opinion, seen by The New York Times as a symbolic setback for the former president, will be presented to the bipartisan Illinois Board of Elections on Tuesday. The board will then vote on whether to remove Trump from the ballot.
