Man Shot, Killed On Northeast Side In Violent Night Across Across Indianapolis

Jamiesfeast – Metro police in Indianapolis are investigating a shooting that killed a guy on the northeast side of the city on Tuesday night.

Just after 9 p.m., police from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the area of E. 44 Street and Priscilla Avenue to help with a person who had been shot. When the police arrived, they found the victim lying in the road, badly hurt from being shot. The IMPD reported that the person had died.

At this point, there are no details about witnesses or suspects. Capt. Mark McCradia of the Indianapolis Police Department asked anyone who knew anything about the shooting to come forward.

“Somebody knows something. We really need someone’s help to call homicide or crime stoppers,” said McCardia.

If you have any information regarding the fatal shooting, please reach out to Detective Matthew Melkey at the IMPD Homicide Office. You can contact him at 317-327-3475 or email him at [email protected].

IMPD has been called to investigate a total of four shootings since 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Within that time frame, seven individuals have been shot.

McCardia expressed his inability to provide a genuine explanation for the unexpected surge of violence tonight. He firmly believes that there are no justifications for such behavior.

Officers responded to a shooting incident in the 500 block of W. 43 Street three hours later. Upon arrival, they discovered a critically injured individual at the scene.

Around 8:30 p.m., officers received a call and responded to VASA Fitness on the city’s west side. Upon arrival, they discovered a juvenile and an adult who had sustained gunshot wounds.

As new information becomes available, this story will continue to unfold.
