70 Percent Of Haley Supporters In New Hampshire Were Not Registered Republicans: CNN Exit Poll

Jamiesfeast – In the New Hampshire GOP primary, it was found that a significant number of voters who supported Nikki Haley were not registered Republicans, as per a CNN exit poll. The poll revealed that 70% of Haley’s supporters did not have a Republican registration. On the other hand, the majority (70%) of Trump supporters were registered Republicans, with only 27% being undeclared. Interestingly, 3% of Trump supporters were unregistered voters who decided to participate in the primary.

In New Hampshire, voters are not required to register as Republicans in order to participate in the GOP primary. However, they are not allowed to register as Democrats. According to a recent poll, 80% of Trump supporters still believe in the false claims made by the former president regarding President Biden’s victory in the 2020 election. On the other hand, 83% of Haley supporters believe that Biden won the election fairly, defeating Trump. It should be noted that Trump inaccurately stated that Democrats could take part in the Republican primary, but in reality, they would have needed to switch parties or remain undeclared by October 6th.

Haley may face significant challenges as the GOP race continues due to this disparity. Since not all states allow independents to take part in their primaries, Haley would need to greatly enhance her support among registered Republicans to stay competitive. In her home state of South Carolina, where she has been concentrating her efforts for the primary, voters are not required to be registered party members, which could work to her advantage. In the most recent vote count, Trump emerged victorious with a lead of approximately 11 percentage points.
