jamiesfeast – Between December 14, 2023, and January 7, 2024, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department apprehended four individuals comprising a retail theft crew. Their alleged involvement includes the theft of items valued at over $300,000 from various stores across Southern California, including Home Depot, Lowe’s, Target, and Walmart.
Among the suspects, three were purportedly collaborators in stealing the merchandise, while the fourth suspect allegedly operated a “fence” on 94th Street East in Littlerock. In this context, a crime fence refers to an individual or business knowingly involved in purchasing stolen goods and property, subsequently selling them for profit.
During the execution of search warrants, detectives uncovered approximately $300,000 worth of pilfered merchandise. Among the seized items were a diverse array of hand and power tools, yard care equipment, generators, A/C compressors, clothing, sneakers, tool storage chests, and more.
Captured in photos were the stolen goods, providing a visual representation of the extensive haul. Notably, the discovery extended beyond merchandise, as two handguns—a 9mm and a .45 caliber—were also located at the scene, adding another dimension to the ongoing investigation.
Three individuals have been apprehended and face charges related to organized retail theft and grand theft. Notably, two of the suspects are facing additional charges for being felons in possession of a firearm. The fourth suspect, on the other hand, has been arrested on charges associated with operating a fence operation.
Although the identities of the individuals have not been disclosed, all suspects are currently held on $50,000 bail at the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station. A court hearing is scheduled for January 29.
