Jamiesfeast – A Philadelphia woman who confessed to driving to Methuen, Massachusetts, to deliver four pounds of heroin to an undercover agent will not be sent back to prison, according to federal authorities.
Elba Pena, a 34-year-old woman, has admitted to conspiring to distribute and possess fentanyl and heroin with the intent to distribute. As a result, she has been sentenced to time served along with a year of home confinement, according to the US Attorney for Massachusetts. Additionally, Pena will be placed on three years of probation.
The federal prosecutors have requested a three-year prison sentence for her, according to court documents.
In November 2021, Pena was apprehended for driving over five hours from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts. Her purpose was to meet a supposed drug customer at a Methuen commercial plaza. It was discovered that she had two kilograms of heroin in her vehicle.
During the investigation, authorities conducted a thorough search of her residence in Philadelphia. The search yielded a significant discovery – approximately 20 pounds (nine kilograms) of fentanyl, according to the prosecutor.
