Jamiesfeast – Texas Governor Greg Abbott slammed New York City Mayor for his “insanity,” “reprehensible,” and “offensive” proposal to provide migrants with prepaid credit cards.
According to the New York Post, a new program is set to replace the current food service for 500 migrant families staying in hotels. Instead of receiving meals, these families will be provided with prepaid cards that can be used at select food retailers. In order to receive the funds, migrants must sign an affidavit stating that they will use the money solely for purchasing food and baby supplies. Managed by Mobility Capital Finance, this program has the potential to offer a monthly allowance of almost $1,000 per family of four for their food needs.
Abbott told Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures. “What’s going on in New York is outrageous, and Americans across the country are angry, not just about what’s going on in New York, but the underlying cause for it, which is Joe Biden’s open border policies,”
Texas Governor Greg Abbott is placing a high priority on addressing the border crisis by stepping up enforcement measures. This comes as a result of an ongoing dispute between the state and the federal government over control of the Texas-Mexico border in Eagle Pass. While immigration law falls under federal jurisdiction, Abbott has been critical of the Biden administration for not adequately enforcing it, prompting Texas to take matters into its own hands. As part of their independent approach, Abbott’s administration has been regularly transporting migrants who cross the border to New York City via bus.
