Brittany Mahomes is in the process of regaining her stability following the joyous celebration of her husband, Patrick Mahomes’, victory in the 2024 Super Bowl.
Before attending the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade, the 28-year-old took to Instagram to share a photo of herself getting an IV drip. She mentioned that she needed some replenishment after a few days of partying.
She expressed her gratitude by writing, “You always come to my rescue,” while tagging the co-owner of Gen 3 IV, a local IV hydration and wellness company. While the specific treatment she received remains unknown, the company provides various options, including a “Hangover Mix” designed to alleviate dehydration and nausea following a night of revelry.
IV therapy has gained popularity in recent years among individuals who are feeling unwell due to illness, jet lag, or even excessive partying. People seeking a quick recovery after a night of drinking may visit IV therapy providers or have a nurse administer the treatment in the comfort of their own surroundings.

According to Dr. Travis Stork, an ER physician, host of “The Doctors,” and member of PEOPLE’s Health Squad, the trend of using IV drips as a hangover cure gained popularity because of its combination of B vitamins, vitamin C, and magnesium.
According to the expert, relying on vitamin drips and IVs as a remedy after a night of drinking can be quite costly and is certainly not a guaranteed solution. While they can help with rehydration and replenishing electrolytes, which may be depleted after excessive alcohol consumption, it’s important to note that there are no miracle cures for a hangover. The symptoms experienced are primarily a result of the accumulation of toxic alcohol metabolites, and the only real remedy is giving your body time to recover.
If you’re thinking about getting an IV drip to cure a hangover, Stork recommends avoiding it and sticking to the traditional methods of dealing with a hangover.
“As a doctor who has also experienced a hangover myself, I have found that the best way to recover is by hydrating with electrolyte-rich fluids before going to bed. In the morning, I make sure to have a nutritious meal to provide my body with the necessary nutrients to overcome the hangover. However, the most important factor in curing a hangover is giving your body enough time to recover,” he advises. “Once I start feeling better, I always remind myself repeatedly, ‘Never again!'”
