Jamiesfeast – Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has been arrested in Texas on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
According to jail records from Smith County, Patrick Mahomes’ father, Pat Mahomes, was arrested by police in Tyler, Texas on Saturday. The arrest took place approximately 100 miles east of Dallas. He was released the following day after posting a $10,000 bond.
According to a police spokesperson, there is currently limited information available regarding Mahomes Sr.’s arrest.
According to online records from Smith County, Mahomes Sr. admitted his guilt for a second driving while intoxicated offense in 2019. He received a sentence of 40 days in the county jail and fulfilled this sentence by serving time on weekends from February 2019 to February 2020.
In accordance with the laws of Texas, individuals found guilty of a third offense of impaired driving may be subjected to severe penalties. These include a hefty fine of $10,000, imprisonment for a duration of two to ten years, and a suspension of their driver’s license for up to two years. Additionally, the state may impose fines of $3,000, $4,500, or $6,000.
Patrick Mahomes’ father, a former pitcher, had a notable career in Major League Baseball during the late 1990s and early 2000s. He showcased his skills while playing for several teams, including the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Pirates. Interestingly, he also ventured into professional baseball in Japan.
