The city will distribute pre-loaded credit cards to families at the Roosevelt Hotel. Families can use these cards at bodegas, grocery stores, supermarkets, and convenience stores.
City Hall has announced that the Immediate Response Card initiative will be introduced to a select group of 500 migrant families who are currently residing in temporary hotel accommodations. This program will replace the current food service provided to these families.
“We want to clarify that the rumor about us distributing American Express cards to everyone you know is entirely false,” Adams emphasized on Monday.
