Jamiesfeast – Darius Rucker, a country musician, was arrested in Tennessee on Thursday for minor drug offenses.
According to a spokesperson from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee, Rucker, 57, has been officially booked on three separate charges.
Darius Rucker, a member of the popular band Hootie & the Blowfish, has been charged with two counts of possessing a controlled substance and one count of violating the state’s vehicle registration law.
Rucker allegedly participated in a drug handoff, according to law enforcement, who also stated that his tags were expired.
In his mugshot, he seemed devoid of any emotion.
In a statement to The Post on Thursday, Darius Rucker’s lawyer stated that he is actively cooperating with authorities regarding the misdemeanor charges.
Country music star Darius Rucker, known for his hit song “Wagon Wheel,” was able to secure his release from custody by posting a $10,500 bond.
In a TikTok video from 2021, Rucker shared a story about the time he and fellow country act Rascal Flatts almost got arrested.
“There is never a dull moment on the road with Rascal Flatts!” he wrote as the caption for the video.
“We found ourselves being pulled over by a police officer while driving the golf cart,” he shared in the video. “The most amusing part of the situation was when the officer stopped us, and Joe Don and I decided to play it cool and pretend like we weren’t there.”
“We had just stepped out of the golf cart and began walking away, leaving Gary behind. He was going to jail on his own while we made our escape,” he recounted.
“But, to be clear, none of us ended up in jail. Our security team promptly intervened and escorted us out,” he concluded. “However, I must admit, it was one of those rare nights when I genuinely believed that I might end up behind bars.”
